The Marcellus Fire Department is composed of 100% Volunteer firefighters, on call 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, ready to serve, protect, and assist, the members of our community.
For our residents, the obvious advantage of having a volunteer fire department is the thousands of dollars saved on salaries, benefits and pension liabilities. It also brings some other pretty amazing benefits. At a time in your life, when you are the most vulnerable, those who come to assist are your friends and neighbors. Whether it is something as straight forward as a carbon monoxide detector beeping in the middle of the night, or a fully involved structure fire, we respond… because you are members of our community.
The Marcellus Fire Department is a non-profit organization seeking the aid of our community members to help us. We receive an operational budget from the town. It is, not enough to pay all the expenses, or buy all the equipment and apparatus. We thrive through your generous donations to keep the department running.
Your donations help us maintain and preserve current apparatus, replace outdated firefighting equipment, and helps pay for advanced training for our members. Your tax deductible donations make a difference.

We are always in need of vehicles to train with for fires, extrication, and other vehicle accidents. If you have a vehicle that is no longer usable to you, consider donating it to the fire department for a tax deduction of standard book value.
Are you tearing down your home to build a new one? The fire department would love to have the opportunity to use the home before it’s torn down to use for training. There is a tax deduction benefit for this.
Annual Fund Drive Campaign:
We do a mailer to all of the residents in our district. This is one of our major fund raisers. We run this fundraising all on our own, so, there is no money paid to outside fund raising companies. 100% of your donation goes to help your very own fire department.
Pancake Breakfast Fundraisers:
Thanks to our member’s hard work, the pancake breakfast at the Fire Department has become a Marcellus tradition, and continues on! The breakfasts are held a few times a year….the food is good, the price is right and the company is great!! We hope to see you and your family at our next one!!!
